Sipping the juice in my mountain retreat in Andalusia, celebrating finding my Nirvana.
It might be out of Africa, but don’t worry I brought the survival skills, unsolicited opinions and ability to turn absolutely anything into a story.
Turns out you can take the girl out of Africa, but apparently she’ll just find another mountain.

High heels on these streets?

Ha! They will die before you reach the corner.

These streets are not for shoes that have never seen hardship.

The cobbles will humble you. and make you wheeze.
The slopes will expose you.
And that little innocent-looking hill? That one has personal issues.

Hiking shoes, on the other hand, are just getting on with the job.

No drama. No complaints. Just dukwe dukwe up the mountain.
Here, fashion is simple.
If your shoes cannot survive the streets, leave them at home.

Because this is not Harare flatness, mwana wangu. This is mountain country.
