A few scenes from last night's Moorish Entrance, first big night of the Villajoiosa festival of Moors and Christians. Great spectacle, the dancing girls with the white sashed are Sella's modern dance troupe, SEDANS.

A twentieth century replica of the ship that took Magellan, Elcano and their European crew of several hundred (one Englishman, two Irish..) around the world in the sixteenth century. The Victoria was the only ship to make the whole journey and Magellan himself was killed in the Philippines. This replica repeated Magellan's journey(2004?) but no doubt with a few modern aids to navigation.Back in 152...1(?) they were making it up as they went along. Very brave sailors in those days! I won't even manage the 400km to Tarragona on Sunday if the Google Maps lady doesn't show me the way...

Great night in Sella Town Hall with a privileged showing of this funny and emotive prize-winming film by Irene Iborra, Sella resident. The Director told us about the making of the stop-motion animation and brought the stars along to meet us!

Local artist Joan Cazorla added this adaptation of an old sketch to the gable-end of his house. The original was by Keith Stimson, an English artist who lived for many years in the house just opposite Casaroc in Cirineo Street here in Sella. Brightens the village up quite a bit, don't you think?
