Bring on the Romería🐎💃🪭🥂
A little blog to understand what the Romería is about
ROMERÍA & SAN ISIDRO – Andalucían Tradition at Its Best 🌿🐴💃
One of the most colourful and heartfelt traditions in our village and in rural Spain is the Romería of San Isidro. A celebration that brings together faith, community, music, food, and the countryside.
San Isidro Labrador, the patron saint of farmers, is honoured across Andalucía each May with lively processions into the countryside. Decorated tractors, horses, flamenco dresses, traditional hats, and wagons filled with families create a wonderful atmosphere full of joy and tradition.
The Romería is far more than a festival — it is a day where generations come together to celebrate local culture, friendships, and the agricultural roots of village life. Music, laughter, shared food, dancing, and plenty of rebujito are the order of the day💃🐎🥂🐎💃
From colourful flamenco dresses to flower-filled carts and horses adorned for the occasion, San Isidro is Andalucía at its most traditional and beautiful. 🌸🇪🇸
