Peera Reindeer Ranch is in the heart of Sámiland where tending to reindeer is a Sámi way of life based on tradition and where the traditional lifestyle is still very much alive. The Ranch is perched at the edge of a vast wilderness area, on the shore of a lake of crystal water and at the foot of a gently rolling mountain, both of which bear the same name, Peera. Only a handful of people live in the neighborhood, but the arctic village of Kilpisjärvi, with its 120 permanent residents and comfortable accommodations for the traveler, can be reached in a quarter of an hour's drive along a scenic road bordering the tundra. Here at Peera Reindeer Ranch the air is pure and the water is clean. Here the sky seems so close that stars are at the tip of our fingers and the Northern Lights are within our grasp.
