POV: you work at the front desk and it's menu tasting day. 👀🍽️

Some people check guests in.
Some people answer emails.
And some people bravely sacrifice themselves in the name of quality control.

This week, the reception team took on the extremely demanding task of tasting Harbore's new menu while our Head Chef walked us through the dishes.

For the record, we believe these tastings are essential for hotel operations and should continue regularly. We are also available for menu tastings at other restaurants, should anyone require our rapidly growing professional expertise. 🤝

In the meantime, we're happy to report: the food is excellent.

Did you know that the building housing Solo Sokos Hotel Pier 4 is one of the largest mass timber buildings in Finland? 🌲

Katajanokan Laituri was designed with a strong focus on long-term use and renewable materials. The above-ground structure contains approximately 7,600 m³ of spruce, built from around 2,500 timber elements.

The timber structure combines Finnish-made LVL from Varkaus and CLT produced in Gruvön, Sweden.

Next time you visit us, take a look around. Many of the wooden surfaces you see are part of the building's actual structure, left visible as a feature rather than hidden away. 🌲

Autumn is here, and there's no better excuse to slow down, wrap yourself in a warm blanket (we're especially fond of the Lapuan Kankurit one featured here), and get lost in a good book.

It was surprisingly warm on our terrace, so there's still time to enjoy the late summer sun, watch the boats pass by, and do absolutely nothing for a while.
