🇫🇮Noin 5 kilometrin päässä hotellistamme Jäppiläniemen alueella on esillä kansantaiteen näyttely. Paikallisten taitajien tekemiä teoksia voi ihailla suoraan autosta nousematta. Tien varrella olevat valkoiset opasliput kertovat, missä kohtaa kannattaa pysähtyä tai hidastaa vauhtia hahmojen havaitsemiseksi. Maaseutumaisemat, joiden keskellä näyttely sijaitsee – silmänkantamattomiin jatkuvat vehnäpellot sekä näkymät Immalanjärvelle – luovat tähän Etelä-Karjalan kauniiseen kolkkaan levollisen ja ajattoman tunnelman.

Approximately 5 kilometers from our hotel in the Jäppiläniemi area, there is a folk art exhibition on display. You can admire the works created by local artisans right from the comfort of your car. White guide flags along the roadside indicate where it is worth stopping or slowing down to spot the figures. The rural landscapes surrounding the exhibition—wheat fields stretching as far as the eye can see and views over Lake Immalanjärvi—create a peaceful and timeless atmosphere in this beautiful corner of South Karelia.

🇫🇮 Immalanjärven keväinen sinfonia.
Metsä on herännyt. Kun astuu ulos hotellista, ensihenkäisy salpaa henkeä – ilmassa tuoksuu jo huumaava sireeni ja varjoisissa rinteissä heräilevät, herkät kielomatot. Kevät ei vain tule, se tulvii sisään kaikilla aisteilla.
Askel vie syvemmälle heräävään vihreyteen, missä aika tuntuu pysähtyvän. Järven peilimäinen pinta siintää puiden välistä, ja sammaleen huomasta voi jo löytää kevään arvokkaimman aarteen – ensimmäiset korvasienet, jotka ovat nousseet piilostaan toukokuun auringon saattelemina.
Täällä, luonnon lempeässä syleilyssä, arjen kiireet unohtuvat. Tule kokemaan toukokuun taika, hengittämään metsän rauhaa ja nauttimaan kevään hienoimmista hetkistä. Parhaat luontopolut alkavat suoraan oveltamme.

🇫🇮 Toukokuun aurinko herättää Imatran luonnon lempeään loistoon...

Tiedätkö sen tunteen, kun astut ulos hotellista ja edessäsi avautuu polku, joka kutsuu unohtamaan maailman kiireet? Vain viiden minuutin kävelymatkan (500 m) päässä meiltä odottaa Immalanjärven ajaton kauneus.

Matka sinne on kuin luku kauneimmasta romaanista. Kuljet varjoisaa, elävää metsäpolkua pitkin, kunnes saavut hiljaisen ja tyynen lammen rannalle. Sen peilimäisestä pinnasta heijastuvat koivujen nuoret lehdet, ja ilmassa kaikuu lintujen kirkas, vapaa laulu. Täällä aika pysähtyy, ja luonto puhuu suoraan sydämelle.

Syynä ovat Imatran voimalaitoksella tehtävät korjaustyöt. Ennen ohijuoksutusten alkamista ehditään järjestää yksi virallinen koskinäytös.

Спустя год после вторжения России в Украину, о котором напоминают пустые российские товарные вагоны на путях в центральной части города, Иматра приходит в себя. Многомиллионные инвестиции в развитие железнодорожного сообщения с Санкт-Петербургом похоронены. Вместо этого на границе будет возводиться забор.

Tyhjien venäläisten tavaravaunujen letka muistuttaa Imatralla Venäjän hyökkäyksestä Ukrainaan. Itäradan rakentamiseen alustavasti luvatut kymmenet miljoonat katosivat kertaheitolla. Tulevalla viikolla alkaa sen sijaan itärajan esteaidan rakentaminen Imatralla.
