What on earth is this peculiar little world, ruled by a cat named Miuku, hidden among the fells and known to some as Giellajohka? 🐈🔮🪄🌙🌲 If you’ve never visited us, here are some FAQs to help plan your trip!
🚌 How I can get to Giellajohka?
The nearest airport is Ivalo Airport. Airport pickup costs €180 (1–4 people) or €230 (5–7). One daily bus departs Rovaniemi at 11:45, Ivalo at 16:30 and Inari at 17:10. The southbound bus leaves Giellajohka at 11:13. Our stop is Kielajoki. Timetables: matkahuolto.fi
🧣How to dress properly at winter time?
We do have good-quality outdoor clothing available for rent, and it is included in the price of all our activities. However, you can also rent these warm clothes for other use during your stay for €15/day. If you book three or more activities, you’ll get the clothing free of charge for the entire duration of your stay. ☺️
The clothing includes a very warm overall, insulated winter boots, gloves, hats, etc. We still recommend bringing good base layers and mid layers with you. Remember to pack some comfortable indoor clothes as well.
🚗 Is there parking available for cars?
Yes! Each accommodation unit has its own free parking space, equipped with a heating outlet for your car if needed.
🔌 Do you have electric vehicle charging?
Yes, we have 3 electric car charging stations. Charging is free for overnight guests and €10/hour for others.
🐾 Are pets welcome?
All pets smaller than a horse are welcome in all of our spaces. Due to cleaning costs, we charge a €15 fee per stay (includes multiple pets).
📶 Is there internet access and is it free?
Yes, we have excellent free Wi-Fi that covers the entire area, including all accommodation units. Please note that the mobile network operator Telia works poorly or not at all, except in the restaurant. Elisa works well throughout the area.
🚕 Do you offer transportation services?
Yes. We offer transfers to Ivalo Airport, hiking trailheads, and other destinations within a 150 km radius. The rate is €2 per kilometre with passengers on board (1–4 people).
