Nähtävyydet lähellä Salpa-hotellia:
Salpalinja on 1 200 kilometriä pitkä linnoitusesteiden sarja Suomenlahdelta Petsamoon. Linja rakennettiin vuosina 1940-1944 talvisodan jälkeen suojaamaan mahdolliselta hyökkäykseltä Neuvostoliiton suunnalta.
Hotellimme lähellä sijaitsee yksi linjan vahvimmista paikoista - Salpa-asema. Tämä asema suojeli tietä, jota pitkin pääsi Kouvolaan ja Keski-Suomeen.
Tien molemmin puolin on betonikorsuja, asuinbunkkereita ja puinen konekivääripesäke. Bunkkereiden edessä on panssariesteitä.
On huomattava, että taisteluja linjalla ei koskaan käyty, huolimatta metsästäjien jättämistä luodin jäljistä.
Attractions near Hotel Salpa:
The Salpa Line is a series of fortifications stretching 1,200 kilometers from the Gulf of Finland to Petsamo. The line was built between 1940 and 1944 after the Winter War to protect against a potential attack from the Soviet Union.
Near our hotel is one of the most fortified locations on the line - the Salpa Station. This station protected the road leading to Kouvola and Central Finland.
On both sides of the road, there are concrete bunkers, residential bunkers, and a wooden machine gun nest. In front of the bunkers are anti-tank obstacles.
It should be noted that no battles were ever fought on the line, despite the bullet marks left by hunters.
