Happy Midsummer from Finland! 🇫🇮☀️
Today, Finland celebrates 𝘫𝘶𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘶𝘴.
The celebration of light, nature and the height of summer.
Juhannus takes place around the summer solstice, when daylight reaches its annual peak and, in many parts of Finland, the sun barely sets at all. The night never truly becomes dark, creating the endless light and magical atmosphere of the Nordic summer.
Today, Finland slows down. Cities become remarkably quiet as people head to summer cottages, lakeshores, islands and nature to celebrate one of the most cherished holidays of the year.
It is a time for family and friends. For swimming, good food, bonfires, laughter and simply enjoying the beauty of the Finnish summer.
And, of course, for sauna. While sauna holds a special place in Finnish life throughout the year, it takes on even greater significance during juhannus. There are no exact figures, but it is estimated that around 80–90% of Finns will enjoy a sauna during the Midsummer celebrations.🔥
From all of us at Hetki, we wish you a wonderful Midsummer weekend. Hyvää juhannusta! ☀️
