The Fishing Cottage Jokiniemi for 6 persons and Anatoly`s Lodge for 2 persons are best suited and especially equipped for sports fishermen groups of 6 - 8 people, families or couples. The pond and river waters right next to the cottage are good for independent angling and spinning and the actual Lake Saimaa areas near the cottage are great for spinning and trolling. Our up-to-date fishing cottage is suitable for 5+1 persons, and it is 68 square metres in size. There is a spacious kitchen-living room, two bedrooms, a wood-heated indoor sauna, shower and toilet. One of the bedrooms has two single beds that can be joined to form a double bed; the other has a 140 cm wide bed for two people. In the living room area there are two sofa beds that can be spread into two 120 cm wide beds. The living room also has a fireplace, 42-inch LED TV, home theatre system and a good Wi-Fi internet connection that you can use free of charge. The cottage was thoroughly renovated in 2013. It now has brand new sauna, shower, toilet and laundry facilities as well as fully renovated bedrooms, terrace and kitchen with new furniture and appliances. The cottage is connected to the municipal water system which provides fresh drinking water from the tap, so there’s no need to bring bottled water to the cottage. We have a washing machine for clothes (with a drying function) and a dish washer. All our customers have been delighted with the atmosphere of our sauna, which can give you a pleasantly dim-lit and moist sauna experience for hours. If you are in the mood for romance, why not bring candles to the sauna and afterwards cool off with some refreshments in the light of our living room fireplace. The cottage pond has a sandy, gradually deepening shore and warm waters for both children and adults to swim in. There is a gas-operated “Muurikka” outdoor cooking set on the terrace, perfect for many kinds of cooking, frying, barbequing and smoking. The terrace is a lovely place to have dinner or to just relax in good company. It has a view over a little pond, and the sandy beach of the pond is good for sunbathing. If the sun gets too hot, you can sit in the nice cool shade of surrounding birch trees. Anatoly`s Lodge
Anatoly's lodge is a small separate cabin located in distance of 20 meters from our main cabin. It is rented as an extra room for max 2 persons. Idea for this became recently when it was possible to buy this building and get some more room for our visitors. Now we can offer 3 bedrooms for your use. The recommended group size for both cottages combined is 6 persons, which can guarantee spacy living. The maximum number of visitors can be 8 persons. The lodge consists of one room of 13 m². The room is equipped with two 80 cm wide beds, a fridge, microvave oven, coffee maker, water kettle and toaster. Anatoly's lodge has a spacy terrace for up to 4 persons with a beautiful lake view. The terrace is equipped with summer kitchen for outdoor cooking. There is no running water, water toilet, shower or sauna available in this lodge building. Visitors can use the toilet, sauna and shower facilities of the main cottage. Drinking water can be carried to the lodge from the main cottage. There is a composting outdoor toilet available near the small lodge. In future we are going to renew a small sleeping cabin located near Anatoly's Lodge for the use of another 2 persons. Fishing near the cottage or on open waters of Lake Saimaa
Our fishing cottage is the perfect choice for sports fishermen using various fishing methods. From the cottage shoreline you can successfully do angling and spinning for pike, perch, bream, roach and ide. The cottage is located in the neck of a lake, between Lake Saimaa and a small pond, which are joined by a 6-7 meters wide river. There is no need to travel more than 400 meters from the cottage by boat to find excellent lake area to do spinning, trolling and angling of walleye, pike, perch, and whitefish. All this you can do in area located less than 2 kilometres from the cottage. In distance of 4 kilometres from the cottage you can find the Sports Fishing Area of Orivirta. In this area you can find 3 straits and a streaming water area to do trolling and spinning. This area is very popular among fishermen trying to catch bigger walleyes. You can also catch pikes and perches as well as do streaming water angling from the shore or from our cottage boat. Our peaceful cottage is located close to all services fishermen need. If you’d like to do independent fishing, the cottage has three 4,2 meter boats that are equipped with a 4hp Mercury & Suzuki 4 stroke outboard engines, Raymarine sonar & GPS plotter combos, oars, anchors and ropes, life vests, landing nets, 6 sets of rods and reels for trolling and 6 sets of reels and rods for spinning. In the storage you can also find a freezer and equipment for handling fish. As our cottage visitor you can use these boats and equipment free of extra charge. There is a good food store, a gas station, restaurant services and a public boat launching ramp within 2 km from the cottage. There is also a ski center 3 km away. Guided fishing trips
We offer our guests spinning and trolling trips to the fishing waters near the cottage as well as to the bigger open water areas of Lake Saimaa – they are the best way for you to learn the finest fishing spots and the most reliable techniques. Our aluminium fishing boat is especially equipped for spinning. If you’d like to do independent fishing, the cottage has two equipped fibreglass boats for that purpose. Boating and fishing trip for the whole family is a great way to get acquainted with the Lake Saimaa nature and its wonderful views with a big and safe boat, spend some time fishing with your children and enjoy a relaxingly long lunch break on a small island.
