Berry season is here!🫐

In Finland, late summer means heading into the forest with a basket in hand and seeing what nature has to offer.

Right now, it’s time for cloudberries and blueberries. After that the forest floor will be dotted with bright red lingonberries, with cranberries following later in the season.

Berry picking is one of those simple Finnish traditions we love: fresh air, quiet forests and a basket full of something delicious to bring home.☺️

While hiking in the national parks of Lapland, you might encounter one of the forest's most
curious residents: the Siberian jay. 🤎

Known for its bold and friendly nature, these birds have become accustomed to hikers on many trails. If the surroundings are calm and the bird feels comfortable, it may even fly down to eat from your hand.

On our National Park Hike, we usually spot several Siberian jays along the way. Meeting these charming birds in their natural habitat is often one of the most memorable moments of the hike and a wonderful way to experience the magic of Lapland's wilderness.
