Beautiful winter landscapes around the cabin !
I have to say that this is probably the coldest winter we've had in terms of average temperatures in the seven years we've lived in Finland!
There have been many many days in a row with temperatures below -25°C and wind chill factors approaching -40°C....
But cold weather means beautiful clear skies, incredible sunsets, no clouds and therefore beautiful auroras, and trees hidden under their thick blanket of snow!
Warmer temperatures are returning, so I'm sharing these few moments frozen in time with you 🩵🐺🫶🏼

My Little Mökki is getting dressed for Christmas 🎄🎁

We have tried to make a very relaxing and inspired from nature decoration 🫶🏼
Everything has been carefully sourced from small second hand vintage shops in Kuusamo and Taivalkoski, and many items are made from branches and plants or local Craftsmen !
Even in the Christmas rush, we remain close to nature with a simple lifestyle 💚

Il y a de nombreuses activités que vous pouvez faire directement depuis la cabane, sans avoir à payer un prestataire extérieur !

Laissez-vous porter par la nature Finlandaise, si belle et si précieuse !

Passez des vacances qui ont du sens en vous reconnectant avec l'environnement et avec vous-même!

Des vacances plus douces, sans stress, sans montre, sans planning !

Pas de tourisme de masse ici. Juste vous et la nature 💚

I'm often asked the question: is it possible to see the Northern Lights from the cabin? 🤔

The answer is YES! 🤗

At My Little Mökki, auroras can be seen above the lake in front of the cabin facing north and with a perfectly unobstructed view! Which makes it an ideal spot to observe them, right from the pontoon, all wrapped up warm!

Here in the region, we observe the aurora every 2/3 days on average throughout the winter!

Of course, certain periods of the winter are more propitious than others (depending on cloud cover, or the intensity of the KP).

Auroras can also be seen as early as the end of summer (late August), when it gets dark again!

So if you don't feel like taking a guide or hunting northern lights all night long, just come at home ♥️

On me pose souvent la question: Peut-on observer des aurores boréales depuis le châlet ? 🤔

La réponse est OUI ! 🤗

A My Little Mökki, les aurores s'invitent au dessus du lac juste devant le châlet, orienté plein nord avec une vue parfaitement dégagée ! Ce qui en fait un spot idéal pour les observer, juste depuis le ponton, bien emmitouflé !

Ici dans la région, nous observons les aurores tous les 2/3 jours en moyenne tout au long de l'hiver!

Évidemment, certaines périodes de l'hiver sont plus propices que d'autres (en fonction de la couverture nuageuse, ou de l'intensité des KP).

Sachez que l'on observe aussi des aurores dès la fin de l'été (fin août) quand la nuit revient!

Alors si vous n'êtes pas chaud à l'idée de prendre un guide ou de chasser les aurores toute les nuits, venez chez nous ♥️

Do you know that close to the cabin, we have the wild and beautiful National Park of ?

There, you can go for a hike in the great canyon of (only 30 minutes by car from ), enjoy the landscape from the water on a canoë trip 🛶, fish and cook your own catch, why not in a wild hut you can find all around the park, and even eat some delicious berries 🫐🍓

With us at My Little Mökki, you can share a moment of complicity and play with our little pack of 5 Alaskan huskies 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺

I am working as a Husky Safari Guide in a small husky farm close to the cabin 🏡

But how could I resist having my own team at home to practice my sport and explore the winter trails of the beautiful Kylmaluoma National park 🥰❄️🌲💚

Meet our 5 loves:

- Taïga, our first baby, a true Lapp with a tender heart, born in Rovaniemi 💙
- Loïs, the pack leader, our family pillar. She's such a sweet and loyal dog 🌸

And their puppies....

- Sahel, our goofy ! A very happy and playful girl with an incredible will to pull a sled! She'll take you to the end of the earth 💪🏼
- Maori, our little sweetheart. An extremely sensitive and gentle dog 🐾
- And last but not least, Maassaï, the blue-eyed hunk. Perhaps the funniest and most talkative of the bunch! He can't stop chattering 💬

-Taïga, nôtre premier bébé, un vrai lapon au coeur tendre né à Rovaniemi 💙
-Loïs, la cheffe de meute, nôtre pilier familial. Une chienne tellement gentille et fidèle🌸

Et leur 3 chiots:
- Sahel, nôtre fofolle, très joyeuse et joueuse avec une incroyable volonté de tirer au traîneau ! Elle vous amènerai au bout du monde!💪🏼
- Maori, nôtre petite douceur de vivre. Une chienne d'une extrême sensibilité et d'un grand calme!🐾
- et enfin Maassaï, le beau gosse au yeux bleu. Peut-être le plus drôle et le plus bavard de la bande! Il n'arrête pas de jacasser !💬
