ouques is decorated in a charming French country style with antiques found by the owners in the local brocante and antique markets. The large house has 3 bedrooms/3 bathrooms and is surrounded on 3 sides with beautiful terraces overlooking the countryside - perfect for an aperitif and alfresco dining on the outdoor furniture provided. At the entrance to the house is a pond and waterfall which is a cool retreat in the heat of the French summer and there is an inground pool. This is a beautiful country house, with magnificent unobstructed views of the surrounding mountains and national park. An easy walk takes you into the picturesque village of Jouques, which has an excellent bakery, butcher, delicatessan, 2 small supermarkets, pharmacy and medical centre, cafes, bars and restaurants. On Sundays, there is a vibrant market with wonderful local produce. The house is well situated between the charming Luberon region and the renowned city of Aix-en-Provence, famous for its Roman thermal springs, museums, theatres and wonderful shops, restaurants and cafes. The house is situated on 2 hectares of forest with olive, fruit, pine and oak trees. An ancient borie (stone shepherd's hut) and grotto, and 19th century stone terraced walls, add to the charm of this property. Sit on the terrace with a glass of local rosé and admire the sunset over the infinity pool in the heart of Provence. The kitchen is well equipped with all you would need to try out the local provencale recipe books provided. The kitchen has a microwave, electric stove top , oven and dishwasher. The laundry has a washing machine and dryer provided. All linen including pool towels is included. In the very spacious lounge room which has a lovely fireplace you will find a TV and DVD player and a library with english DVDs for adults and children as well as guide books and maps to the region
On the ground floor there is one large double bedroom with ensuite hydrotherapy bath and queen size bed with a magnificent view over the infinity pool to the mountain. Another double bedroom with queen size bed and view onto the terrace and the countryside with a bathroom immediately opposite. There is also a very comfortable queen size fold out couch for visitors in the large lounge room. On the first floor there is a jarge dormitory style room (under roof) excellent for children's play and sleeping area with 4 single beds with ensuite. Price: per week for 2012: 1 Jan to 26 May $1500, 26 May to 30th June $2200, 30th June to 1st Sept $2600, 1st Sept to 6 Oct $ 2200, 6th Oct to 5th Jan 2013 $1500. Prices include all linen and cleaning fees. A $100 discount per week applies for bookings over 1 week. Deposit of 50% required for a confirmation of booking.
