The last of our chambres d'hotes guests have left for the season and we're having a meander with Neo and Otto. It's early evening here and the sun is going down. The light is at its prettiest at this time.
It's been an unusual year for tomatoes and other veg. The canigule brought all growth to a standstill. Then with the lower temperatures they were kickstarted and we've never had such a glut. Along with cucumbers, peppers, and aubergines.
We've used our shower water diligently with the result that the buddleia bed has been at its best. I've waited for a long time to see the planting fill out the space. Next year I'll be putting tomatoes in the middle of it for a mutually beneficial relationship with the flowers!
Tomorrow I leave the peace and calm of Le Moulin for a weekend spent commuting to Toulouse where my paintings are part of the Arts En Balade open studio weekend. You can see more of my work at so you see what I've been up to.
