I am the child of immigrants. Most of my friends in school as a child where also. I still remember the Vietnamese kids who came to school and didn’t even speak English. Yet in just a few years, they where top of their class.

My father fought against fascists during World War 2. So did my grandfather.

I have been friends with Muslims, Jews, Blacks, Indians, homosexuals. I have never considered color race or orientation when I call someone a friend.

Tomorrow is an important day. Though I have no doubts that Washington state, where most of you are from, will vote for Harris. The fact is, the election will be decided by a few thousand people in Pennsylvania. Which is rediculous, but that’s the system in place.

All that to say, whatever happens, it won’t change who I am. It will be my honor to continue what my family has done for generations. Fight for Liberté, Égalité et Fraternité. America is still a beacon of freedom. The rest of the world is watching you. And hoping you do what is right. It’s the most important vote in history. Don’t f**k it up.

Todays game: Find the Llama!

57 years ago, August 13th 1967, an earthquake destroyed 90-95 pourcent of our village. The second largest earthquake in French history.
Only one victim, though there where several people badly hurt, including my grandmother.
It was a miracle that the village was saved. The plan was to move everyone to the city, and give up. It’s a testament to the love the people here have for their history, that they fought so hard to stay. When my family and I came here in 1973, the work had just finished. Many homes where destroyed, including my families home. But the people where here. And hopefully, my son will continue our family history. It’s not the bricks and cement that count. It’s the people.
