There's a whole world outside waiting for you. To experience culture beyond the bike. To experience life--fully.
What we see on and off the bike, culture, community, and purpose, and a week of gravel cycling in the Pyrenees looks like.
The Catalan traditions are very much alive. A flock that owns the trail. A waterfall you almost miss. Ruins that make you stop. A château appears from nowhere. Cheese, saucisson, and a rest stop view that will make you want to return.
It's Friday afternoon somewhere. But specifically, a Friday afternoon in Arles-sur-Tech.
* The Boucherie Charcuterie sign with "Spécialités Catalanes Maison" written on it — it literally says "Catalan specialties."
* The architecture — that particular style of Languedoc-Catalan townhouse with iron balconies.
* The costumes — white with red sashes, which are consistent with traditional Catalan folk dress.
* The stick dance (Ball de Bastons) is a very specific Catalan tradition.
All of these identities are core reasons to adventure and explore the world beyond our own. After all, should this not be what custom tours are built for? And isn't it the reason we look for something 'more' outside our daily lives? We think so.
