Plant based Bed and breakfast accommodation in the French Pyrenees. Eco Bed and Breakfast using local and organic produce. Provides copious and delicious plant based (vegan) breakfasts and meals. Large organic permaculture garden. Located in the heart of the French Pyrenees in the rural village of Artalens. A Bigourdane house with amazing views of the surrounding mountains. THE SPACE
The Bedrooms

In this large 3 bedroom house each comfortable guest room has an en-suite. Each guest room capacity is a MAXIMUM of 2 Adults
(There is the option of adding in bedroom number 1 and 3, 1 child under 30kg; a deluxe junior readybed blow up mattress W75cmxL151cm or travel cot supplied)
Each guest room has a large double bed (180cm) that can be separated into 2 singles. The en-suites have a shower, sink and eco toilet. We supply both organic cotton towels and organic vegan soap. The Breakfast
Every morning a healthy, organic and energy packed plant based (vegan) breakfast is served in the large dining room. There is a choice of cereals, rice/almond milk, fresh fruit, biscots/bread, jams/honey, homemade goodies, a choice of teas, coffee, freshly made juice of the day and a selection of dried fruits. Breakfast is included with your reservation. We can also prepare your evening meals and picnics (these meals need to reserved in advance and are at an extra cost). The House
The house was built in the 1700s and is a large Bigourdane style mountain house that has been lovingly renovated. It is the perfect mix of old and new. The living room and dining room are both communal spaces and have spectacular views over the mountains and valleys. The living room is a wifi zone, has a self service bar and there are plenty of board games, books and films to choose from. An upstairs reading nook is the perfect place to hide away and read a book from the large selection we have in the house. The dining room has a traditional handmade Basque table, large Bigourdane open fireplace and is where the breakfast buffet can be found. The wifi access available onsite is free. For your own comfort we do not have wifi in the bedrooms. The Barn
For all guests wanting to prepare their own meals or picnics there is a fully equipped kitchenette in the barn. The washing machine is available on request. Exterior Space;
The large garden that surrounds the house and barn is unfenced and pesticide free. This wonderful permaculture garden with it’s panoramic views of the mountains has lounging and eating areas for you to rest and relax. There is plenty of space for children to play and run around in, with outdoor play equipment including a sandpit and trampoline. We have planted lots of fruit trees and grow our own organic vegetables. The garden is home to our friendly cat ‘Captain Bob’, our free ranging ducks and the local hedgehog. GUESTS ACCESS
All communal areas of the house and garden. The BARN's kitchen if needed to prepare your own lunches or dinners. There is ample private parking for guests. Lockable equipment storage is available on request. A washing machine is available on request. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
No Smoking inside the buildings. No pets allowed; due to family allergies. Tourist taxes, to be paid in cash on arrival, are not included. After heavy snowfall the access to house can be difficult. Having snow chains is a must. This is a plant based bed and breakfast which means we do not have any animal products available to eat (no milk, cheese, meat etc). THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
We are situated in the quiet rural mountain village of Artalens-Souin in the Pyrenees National Park. It over looks the Vallée des Gaves and is situated in the just 10 minutes from the Ski station of Hautacam. The nearest town, Argeles-Gazost, is 10 minutes drive away. It has everything you might need such as supermarkets, farmers markets, cafés, bars, cinema, spa, banks, post office and bus station. Attractions nearby: Hautacam Ski station (9.3km away), Thermal town of Argeles-Gazost (9.4km away), Pilgrimage town of Lourdes (17.9km away), Mountain town of Cauterets (23.8km away), Grand site Pont d’Espagne (32km away), UNESCO World Heritage site Gavarnie (42.9km away), Grand site Pic du Midi de Bigorre Observatory (48.3km away). Nearby activities include: hiking on all levels, trail running, tree climbing parks, White water sports, fishing, mountain biking, road biking, rollerblading, running, tennis, swimming pool, Pyrenees animal park, mountain luge, Spas, 6 ski stations, Alpine and Nordic skiing, All within a short distance from the house. GETTING AROUND
Due to our rural location we recommend private transport and have plenty of parking spaces available onsite. Nearest Bus service: Argeles-Gazost 10 minutes drive away
