It is with sadness that I write to confirm that Diane was involved in a fatal car accident on Tuesday 12th January near her home in France.

Diane had a huge impact on so many people's lives across the globe. Her humour and kindness and enthusiasm was clear to everyone who knew her.

We have received so many beautiful messages from so many people. Please do not be offended if we do not reply quickly as it is just really hard. With Sadness, Jaine (sister) and Diane (Niece)

Beautiful day for a bike ride. ☀️ The valley was warm! Up in the hills, clouds rolled in making for a bit of a chilly descent!

And his name was Cyril… 15th C, in a small village, construction started on a church. Near to completion, the church unexpectedly collapsed. The head mason picked up a hammer and threw it over his shoulder saying wherever the hammer landed, they would build a new church. The hammer landed on an otter and that’s where they built the church, Eglise Saint-Cyr-Sainte-Julitte (Saint Cyril the Otter). A carving on the exterior of the bell tower depicts the hammer just above Cyril. No info on whether Cyril survived but let’s pretend he did. Always something interesting to see cycling in !

Into the velvet woods... I took a trail I had never been on before and discovered this small chapel hidden in the forest. Came across a deer taking a nap in a meadow and remnants of some wild camping. Found out later that the Green Meridian passes directly through the church.

Visitors in the bike room today. I think they are newts but correct me if I am mistaken! They were moving very slowly but one minute there were three, and the next, just one!

Horses; an old auberge (with stables for horses); Salers cattle; and a wee chateau. There's always something interesting to see on your bike in !
