Le festival Normandie Impressioniste est de retour, comme tous les quatre ans, du 3 avril au 6 septembre 2020. De nombreux événements sont organisés un peu partout afin de démontrer, une fois de plus, que la Normandie est le berceau de l'impressionnisme. Etrangement, le site web n'est pour le moment qu'en français, ce qui peut surprendre pour un événement international.
The Normandie Impressioniste festival is back, as every four years, from April 3 to September 6, 2020. Numerous events are organized everywhere in order to show, once again, that Normandy is the birthplace of Impressionism. Strangely, the website is for the moment only in French, which may be surprising for an international event.

He was scheduled to spend 3 days in Bayeux... he will stay there for two weeks. There's only one reason for that: Louise, one of the two daughters of Le Brisoys de Surmont. They both fell in love at first sight. And if someone had not come from Caen to take him away from this house and this family on purpose, Louis-Auguste Blondeau admits that he would have sacrificed his career for the young woman. He will dedicate 3 romances Op. 4 published by Leduc to her. Louis-Auguste Blondeau will reach Italy well. In 1807 he was awarded the second Grand Prix de Rome in musical composition, then the first Grand Prix in 1808. He lived for 3 years in Villa Medici, then frequented Stendhal and Lamartine, played with Ingres before collaborating with Rossini. His book "A musician's trip to Italy" published by Mardaga is considered as a testimony of the utmost importance of this period when Napoleon annexed the papal states. Attentive to facts, moods, he depicts Villa Medicis, Italy and Italian theatres with precision and style. The first part of the book is devoted to his pre-trip to Normandy. He depicts the Le Brisoys Family, Caen, Bayeux, Port-en-Bessin but also Molay-Littry and the Bishop's country house in Sommervieu.
All we have to do now is find the three romances composed for Louise Le Brisoys, then invite a musician to play them in our house... maybe at the Music Day?
