Idyllic retreat for one night to three months, 20 minutes outside of Bordeaux, south west France. Sleeps up to four. Accommodates up to 4 using the sofa bed.

Domaine des Mages is the wing of a privately-owned 17th century chartreuse in the tiny village of Beautiran, 20 minutes away from Bordeaux and 15 minutes from the airport (if you put your foot down!)
With its own entrance, furnished with a mix of antiques and contemporary pieces, there's a double bedroom downstairs which overlooks the grounds and a flagstone hallway. Up the stone spiral staircas

e you'll find a high-ceilinged sitting and dining room (large flat screen tv and dvd, wi-fi, and L-shaped sofa that opens up to a double bed if needed) with three double windows opening on to a view of open countryside and a 12th century village church. A kitchenette means you can be self-sufficient, (washer-dryer; microwave; fridge; and an electric ceramic hob, although no oven and dishwasher) or if you're just staying for a couple of days, breakfast can be provided. A free-standing Victorian bath sits in a wood-panelled bathroom with plenty of natural light. Domaine des Mages is available for one night to a three month stay.
