Zoe Vilain is a French-British writer and multidisciplinary artist working across film, theatre, audio and literature. Her work explores intimacy, identity, memory and women’s stories. She is co-founder and Strategy Advisor at Bliss Studio. She has written and directed short films, documentaries and immersive theatre, and is currently writing her first novel, inspired by the life of a family member, Simon Marcovici Cleja.

“I used my time at La Moissie as an immersive period to focus on my first novel, inspired by the life of a family relative, Simon Marcovici Cleja. I dedicated time to writing and research, while exploring how my experience across film, theatre and documentary could inform a more intimate literary form. I particularly appreciated the opportunity to work alongside other artists, share ideas and be part of a creative community, while having the quiet and space I needed to write.”

Harold Pirlot de Corbion harold_____pirlot is a visual artist based in Brussels. Working between photography and painting, he is drawn to the traces humans leave on the Earth. His photographic expeditions around the world shape the way he looks at the canvas once back in his studio.

Learn more about his residency project in her words below…

“At La Moissie, I want to open a research into natural dyes and pigments, creating from what grows and can be found around the place. The landscape then becomes the material: I gather, I test, I let the colour settle and migrate across the raw canvas. Taking this time, in an inspiring place and free from other demands, is precisely what will allow me to focus solely on this project and let it take shape.”

Harold Pirlot de Corbion est un artiste visuel bruxellois. Entre photographie et peinture, il s’intéresse aux traces que les humains laissent sur la Terre. Ses expéditions photographiques à travers le monde nourrissent le regard qu’il porte ensuite sur la toile, dans son studio.

« À La Moissie, je souhaite ouvrir une recherche sur les teintures et pigments naturels, en créant à partir de ce qui pousse et se trouve autour du lieu. Le paysage devient alors le matériau : j’y prélève, j’y teste, je laisse la couleur se déposer et migrer sur la toile brute. Prendre ce temps, dans un endroit inspirant et sans autre sollicitation, est justement ce qui me permettra de me concentrer uniquement sur ce projet et de le laisser prendre forme. »

Sebastián Segura is a Colombian visual artist, toy designer and researcher based in Kraków, Poland. His practice explores objects, play and material culture, moving between visual arts, design and craftsmanship. Through toys and object-making, he investigates how playful objects can carry memory, symbolism and cultural identity.

“ During my time at La Moissie, I want to explore how small objects acquire meaning through play, memory, ritual and cultural context. I am particularly interested in the region’s material heritage and in objects such as amulets, folk toys, devotional artifacts, tools and souvenirs. Through research, drawing and small-scale making, I hope to develop new playthings somewhere between artifact, toy and sculptural object. “

Lucía Carballal (Madrid, 1984) Lucía Carballal is a playwright and theatre director, considered one of the leading voices in contemporary Spanish theatre. She recently wrote and directed Los nuestros and Los pálidos at the Centro Dramático Nacional Centro Dramático Nacional , and La fortaleza at the Teatro de la Comedia. Her earlier works include La resistencia, Las bárbaras, Los temporales and Una vida americana. Many of her plays have been published by La uña rota and have been staged or presented as rehearsed readings in the UK, Italy, Uruguay, Venezuela, Mexico and the United States. Alongside her work in theatre, she also works as a screenwriter for film and television.

“During my stay at La Moissie, I will be preparing my new production, Un drama romántico, which will soon premiere in Barcelona (Teatre Lliure) and Madrid (Centro Dramático Nacional). The writing of the play and the conception of the staging go hand in hand, and I know that both will be influenced by the surroundings and by the people I meet there.”

Inspired by the rhythms of the natural world, LA based multidisciplinary artist Evangeline Neuhart evangeline neuhart finds beauty in the cycles and patterns that surround and define us. Through the mediums of photography, film, textiles, and drawing, her work explores the concept of the archive (whether that be through physical preservation, memory, or other means) as well as the unconscious mind. She earned her BA degree from Bennington College where she focused on acting, photography, and filmmaking.

“My intention for my time at La Moissie is to delve into a film I have been writing. It is a story about childhood, transformation, and the parallels between a mother and daughter. While I live in a big city, I often long for the quiet beauty of the countryside. I am so excited to have time and space for myself, surrounded by nature, to work on a story that has been close to my heart for many years.”

Julia Vergara Ballester is a visual artist based in Madrid. She works across a range of materials and media, including textiles, wood, paper, ceramics, and glass. Her practice champions craftsmanship and the applied arts, exploring the expressive possibilities of these materials and techniques.

Her visual world draws on the avant-garde, Surrealism, and Arte Povera, alongside references to fashion, everyday objects, and childhood. Through these influences, she explores play, memory, and humour.

During my time at La Moissie, I want to continue exploring the ideas behind my most recent exhibition, La Piel que Dura, a project based on the transfer of textures onto ceramics. I want to further explore the adaptability of this material, while also incorporating patterns and decorative techniques.
