What a week at Au Coin des Arbres! ☀️🇫🇷

There’s been so much going on in our little corner of the Dordogne…

🚲 Beautiful bike rides through the countryside — with a little bit of filming along the way! 🎥
🍷 Local night markets and summer evenings out
🍽️ Some fabulous local restaurants
🎶 Reggae at the Château de Biron — what an incredible setting!
🎂 A birthday celebration for one of our lovely guests
🐾 And gorgeous little Harry, who came to stay and quickly became firm friends with Ozzy!

We’ve loved seeing our guests making the most of everything this area has to offer — days out exploring, evenings around the table, new friendships and plenty of laughter along the way.

And somehow, the cameras were back again! 🎬 This time they even joined us on a bike ride… more on that another day! 😉

One of the loveliest things about Au Coin des Arbres is simply watching the place come alive in summer. Guests doing their own thing, heading off to explore, relaxing by the pool and then crossing paths back at the gîtes at the end of the day.

Weeks like this are exactly why we love what we do.

🎬 Mad Saturday at Au Coin des Arbres!

What a day! 😅

This morning we waved goodbye to 18 lovely guests, before it was all hands on deck getting the gîtes ready to welcome 20 more — our busiest changeover Saturday yet! 🧹🧺☀️

And just to add to the madness… we’ve been filming again for our upcoming TV project! 🎥 Our lovely cameraman Dan was back to capture another day in the life at Au Coin des Arbres — and he certainly picked a busy one! 😂

Now, with 20 guests safely checked in and filming wrapped for the day, there’s no rest for us… we’re off to the open-air Puccini opera at Château de Biron tonight! 🎶🏰

From changeover chaos to opera under the stars… just a typical Saturday at Au Coin des Arbres! ❤️

Music under the stars at Château de Biron… just minutes from Au Coin des Arbres. 🎶✨

We were lucky enough to attend the piano recital at Château de Biron last night, and it was absolutely magical. Watching world-class musicians perform in the courtyard of this incredible château as the sun set was an experience we’ll never forget.

The summer programme continues throughout August, including Puccini’s La Bohème this Saturday evening, plus plenty more concerts and events until the end of the month.

If you’re staying with us on 20th, 21st or 22nd August, you’re in for a treat as Les Villégiatures festival brings three evenings of fantastic live music to the château.

From Pool Boy to Pond Boy! 😂🐟

Turns out running gîtes doesn’t just involve looking after the pool…

Nick has finally tackled the job he’s been putting off for weeks – thinning out the lily pads in our pond! Judging by that smile, he was absolutely thrilled to be waist-deep in pond water… 😅

The fish are now much easier to spot, the pond can breathe a little better, and Nick has officially added ‘Pond Boy’ to his ever-growing list of jobs here at Au Coin des Arbres.

Who knew owning gîtes came with quite so many unexpected roles? 😂

We were back filming today with Ian, our lovely cameraman, for the TV programme. It’s always a bit strange having cameras following you around, especially on a busy Saturday!

As if filming wasn’t enough, it was also changeover day here at Au Coin Des Arbres – so it was all hands on deck getting everything spotless and ready to welcome our next guests.

We can’t wait to share more with you when we’re allowed to! 🤫

We don’t normally stop to celebrate these things, but receiving our third 5⭐ review felt like a good excuse.

As it’s our very first season at Au Coin des Arbres, every review means a lot to us. Thank you to everyone who’s stayed with us so far, and especially those who’ve taken the time to leave such kind feedback. We really do appreciate it.

We’ve had a fantastic week with some wonderful guests, and hearing everyone enjoying themselves around the pool each day has been one of those moments that makes all the hard work worthwhile. Seeing families, couples and friends relax, switch off and make memories together is exactly what we hoped for when we started this adventure.

Thank you again to everyone who’s been part of our first season so far. We can’t wait to welcome many more of you over the rest of the summer.
