Come and stay in our 2 holiday cottages nestled in the beautiful Charente countryside. 'La Maison du Charpentier' sleeps 6 and the 'Le Petit Verger Gîte' sleeps 2. Our little orchard gîte is the perfect relaxing getaway for two adults (and an infant) as a fully functional escape from

reality or a pitstop on your journey through France. In summer, our 220+ year old guesthouse is cool and in the autumn and winter it is cosy with the log fire burning. We're in the heart of a small village and walking distance from an artisan boulangerie (bakery) and an excellent restaurant/bar (currently closed) but you wouldn't know it as the 'petit verger' is a very private and peaceful retreat. Amenities:

• King Size Bed (bedding provided)
• Kitchen with Hob and Utensils, pots & pans etc.
• Bathroom with large shower and heated towel rail (towels provided)
• Direct (shared) access to a 10x5m Swimming pool (in season)
• Large gîte garden & orchard for you to relax in

• Private Terrace with table and chairs
• Log Burner & Wood
• BBQ (on request)
• Travel cot and high chair (on request)
• Hammocks

Our gîte is setup as a retreat to disconnect from our normal hectic life. Purposefully there is no direct TV aerial but we have a selection of games, books and DVD’s should you need them. Wifi is available and normally there is good 4G reception for mobile devices. The village of Bonnes is a traditional farming village steeped in history. It has an artisan boulangerie (bakery), a restaurant/bar and a weekly market. We’re right on the river so you can enjoy wild swimming, canoeing, fishing and walks. Locally there are many historical villages and small towns where you’ll find supermarkets, restaurants and all amenities. We also offer private foraging, gin making and outdoor skills workshops as well as calligraphy classes if you're interested in learning some new skills while you're with us!
