The Poitou-Charentes region attracts visitors all year round, who come to enjoy everything from the countryside and cycling on the lovely quiet roads, to great tourist attractions like Futuroscope and la Vallée des Singes. History buffs, too, enjoy discovering such delights as Roman remains and medieval churches (we have one just down
the road), or exploring the area's Resistance connections during the Second World War. You will find wildlife abounds here: deer, red squirrels and boar are a common sight, and the native birds are enough to get any twitcher reaching for the binoculars! As its name suggests, La Vieille Fromagerie was originally a small creamery, making goats' cheese. While that's no longer the case, little fromageries are still very common in the area, where you can buy traditionally-made cheese and even buy fresh milk in your own jug - something that vanished in Britain decades ago. A warm welcome awaits all guests, both young and old. Our gites are professionally-renovated, and decorated to a very high standard. Each has its own outside seating area and is equipped with all you need for a comfortable stay. We provide good-quality accommodation in a relaxed, informal atmosphere to help you enjoy your break. There's a large and safe children's play area, and inflatables and toys are provided in the pool area. High chairs and cots are also available for those with young children. For anyone wanting to get away in off-season periods, we offer central heating and flexible check-in/out days. Welcome packs are provided, and we offer a free barbecue the day after you arrive (weather permitting), to help you relax and get to know the place. Its a family run business, the swimming pool is heated, and shops, supermarkets, restaurants and amenities are all within easy reach - what more could one ask?
