Today it's Grenache day and a perfect moment to launch this new Cuvée of Domaine Saint Andéol! Ma Cuvée 2023 is created by the new generation of this Domaine, Marion Beaumet. This is her first Cuvée and what an achievement. It's a blend of 99% Grenache and 1% Syrah and it has been aged in Concrete for 6 months to keep the Grenache flavours. The Grenache is 80 years old and like all their vineyards the Grenache is planted on the great Cairanne terroir of the hillside.
In the nose beautiful fresh tones of red fruit and depth flavours of dark fruit. The nose is full and round but fresh at the same time. On the palate a rich and elegant balance of acidity, fruit and spices. Wild strawberries, young plums and ripe blackberries. A fine finish with light tones of licorice and some subtile bitterness of the elegant tannins and the small touch of cinnamon. Very well made by this young winemaker. Production of 1.250 bottles and for sale at the Domaine for € 26,00.
