How beautiful Bordeaux was last night. ✨
Love and summer were in the air.
It seemed that having a drink on a café terrace was the main thing to do. I heard laughter, saw people cycling, strolling along the river, or simply picking up a few vegetables from the grocery store around the corner.
I was struck by the beauty of Bordeaux, made even more magical by the sunset. Suddenly, every detail seemed interesting: the Porte Cailhau and its lovely Place du Palais, my beloved Rue Saint-James with its coffee shops, the Apollo Café on Place Fernand Lafargue, Bordeaux Cathedral on Place Pey-Berland, The church of Saint-Paul de Bordeaux, near my favourite gift shop Comptoir de Magellan, the iconic Mollat bookshop on Rue Vital Carles ...
I felt as if I were seeing Bordeaux for the very first time.
There were even a few Barcelona vibes — that same love of friendship, free time, good food and wine, and that irresistible need to be outside when the weather is this beautiful.
That evening made me understand once again why Bordeaux has become such a sought-after European destination — a vibrant, elegant and wonderfully epicurean city to visit, to live and to enjoy.
