Introducing our new ‘Tankkd’ stock tank pool hot tub!

This will be on offer to those who book our three bedroom gîte or 2 gîtes combined (5 bedrooms) offering 👍

At 2.1m in diameter, it seats up to 6 people and is cleverly heated by a wood-fired stove 🔥and an air source heat pump. This means that there is no ‘waiting time’ ⏰ and it’s ready for you, as soon as you arrive back from the trails, cycling TDF cols or playing in the snow. Score! 🙌

Enjoying lovely September ☀️, sunflowers 🌻, garden views and relaxing in the hammock after a busy summer season.

A big thank you to everyone who visited our gîtes over the last few months. It was fantastic to host you!! ❤️

We enjoyed hosting many French guests and also a large number (more than previously) of international guests from - Belgium, Germany, Denmark, The Netherlands, Spain and the UK. It seems like the is finally being discovered 👍

We especially enjoyed hosting large family groups, who particularly enjoyed the spacious size of the gîtes, the outdoor terraces and the generous lawn area. With the later, being perfect for a game of football, frisbee or a general run around 😜 There’s enough space for children, parents and grandparents to all enjoy 😉

Other groups who profited from the size of our property were a number of cycling groups and gatherings of friends. If you’re interested in visiting next summer (or this winter!), please check out our link 🔗 in the bio.

Recent guests enjoying a day trip hiking the trails at Cirque de Gavarnie 🤩

Even though it was the busiest day of summer, we showed them where to find some of the most impressive and quiet trails in the area.

Summer is here in the Hautes-Pyrenees 🇫🇷 and it’s the perfect time to hike to a beautiful peaceful mountain lake. This was Lac de Peyrelade today 👆

With pretty pink Alpen Rose flowers in bloom and patches of snow still on the peaks, it’s an extra special time of year to visit 🤩

The temperature is also not bad for a quick wild swim, if you dare!

It’s nearly the end of winter here in the Hautes-Pyrénées in the southwest of 🇫🇷. However (rather ironically) as I write this, it’s been snowing ❄️ a bit on and off all day!

Here are a few photos of the beautiful mountain views you could witness, if you choose to come visit us next winter. We’d be delighted to host you! 👍

This year we only did a partial winter season, due to the arrival of our twins 👶👶 in December.

However, we intend to be fully open for the whole 2024/25 winter season from mid December onwards 🙌

Almost two years after we moved to the Hautes-Pyrénées, I’ve finally ridden the Col de Aspin / Hourquette d’Ancizan loop from the backdoor, and I can see why it’s an absolute favorite with our cycling guests.

Covering 60km / 1720m elevation gain over the two stunning Tour de France Col, it’s a perfect warm up for some of the other bigger loops and climbs on the doorstep here.

We’ve been dark on Instagram for a long while (since March!) So, I thought it was about time to share a couple of snaps 📷of what’s been keeping us busy…namely, the renovation of our 2-bedroom gîte Tourmalet.

It’s had a complete downstairs remodel; with a new kitchen, underfloor heating, paint job and the addition of some new furniture. All making it a very comfortable mix of modern comforts and rustic traditional features.

We’ll be opening up availability for the winter season and next summer soon, as we update our website. Meanwhile, if you’re interested in particular dates, for any of our gîtes, please message us directly 👍 We’d be delighted to host you 😊

This winter we’ve been enjoying discovering how active the outdoor sport community in this area is;

Tonight was Skimo race night at La Mongie, organised by .

Epically cold, but beautiful to emerge above the clouds and see the last rays of sun on the mountains.

headed up to take photos whilst raced. Then everyone enjoyed a post skimo apéro 🍺 🍷 - what a perfect way to spend a Wednesday evening.

When there’s fresh ❄️ on the ground outside (and more on its way), we like to prepare the fire 🔥 ahead of time for our guests arrival.

Who doesn’t love opening the door to a roaring fire and a cosy, warm space?! 🤩

This winter all 3 of our gîtes have been busy with guests enjoying fabulous skiing ⛷️ at Grand Tourmalet - La Mongie/ Barèges ski resort, just 15-20 min drive from us.

We have had some fantastic reviews ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️and loved sharing this special place with all our guests.
