Grape Harvest 2023

Grape harvesting is one of the most important events in wine regions.
Here in southern France, I feel a certain excitement in the air before it starts.
The buckets and containers are thoroughly cleaned, the secateurs sharpened, the tractors and trailers are ready.

The big question is: what’s the right moment to harvest the grapes?
There’s many factors but very important is the sugars- acids proportion.
We use a portable refractometer that measures the sugar content of the grapes.
For 2023 it should have a minimum of 14%.
It’s tricky because as soon as it rains the % decreases and all activities will be postponed.

We managed to deliver beautiful, healthy Grenache grapes to the Cooperative Maîtres Vignerons de Cascastel des Corbières.
You can enjoy our excellent AOP Corbières and AOP Fitou wines everywhere in Europe and even in the US!

Au domaine de Ferrairolles, à Cascastel les Corbières, nous n’accueillons jamais plus de 2 familles en même temps et un maximum de 6 personnes.

Souhaitez-vous vous réveiller avec le chant des cigales, ou rêver à côté de la musique apaisante de l’eau dans la cascade de la piscine ?

Sentez-vous déjà l’odeur de la lavande, du thym sauvage, du romarin et des figues mûres ?

Vous imaginez-vous dans l’eau pure et fraîche de la piscine écologique, à une température de 26 degrés C.

Nous vous proposons quelques roulottes, où l’on se sent (presque) seul en pleine nature sauvage, au milieu des vignes des Corbières, avec une vue sur les Pyrénées et pas très loin des plages tranquilles de la Méditerranée ou des châteaux Cathares.
Les roulottes sont confortables et autonomes en eau et électricité, avec salle de bains privée, cuisine privée et bien plus encore…

We never have more than 2 families and maximum 6 people at domaine de Ferrairolles.

Do you want to wake up to the sound of the crickets, or muse next to the soothing rippling of the pool cascade?

We have a few tiny houses / cabins where you feel ( almost) alone in nature, located among the vineyards of the Corbières with views of the Pyrenees mountains and not too far from the Mediterranean Sea.
The wagons are autonomous in terms of water and electricity, but have the comfort that you deserve. You will depart rejuvenated!

The Eco Guesthouse Ferrairolles is now offering tiny house rentals. Also known as roulottes, Pipowagens or gypsy wagons. In this time of Covid-19, these tiny houses are the perfect get away to enjoy a remote vacation.

Each Pipowagen has a queen-sized bed (with mosquito netting) and en-suite bathroom with an Eco-toilet, sink and shower with hot water from a solar water heater. An outdoor kitchen allows guests to make their own meals.

Offerings:
Single roulotte for two - €70 per night (2-night minimum)
Two roulottes for four - €130 per night (4-night minimum)
