A little more adventure! 🤙⛷️
For the final two days of our Telemark Freeride Safari, we bring in a qualified high mountain guide to join the adventure.
But why?
Because having a high mountain guide opens up possibilities to explore more adventurous terrain, including areas where specialist mountaineering skills, glacier knowledge or the use of ropes may be required.
Of course, where we go will always depend on the snow and weather conditions, and the ability of the group. Safety comes first, and we never have a fixed itinerary that we have to follow.
There’s another advantage too!
For certain types of terrain, our guide can take a maximum of four people. Having both our Telemark instructor and high mountain guide with us means we have the flexibility to split into smaller groups when appropriate.
Smaller groups can move more efficiently through the mountains, and it gives us more flexibility to choose terrain and routes that suit the people skiing.
By the time we reach those final two days, we’ve already spent four days skiing together, so we have a much better understanding of everyone’s ability, fitness and confidence.
And that means we can make the most of the opportunities the mountains give us!
