Merry Christmas to all lovely picture taken neer by but no chance of seeing that this year at the moment as it is still so warm in the area, long may it continued, very pretty for a couple of days but too cold to do anything. LA GRUE is our luxury holiday gite and it was a 19th Century farmhouse with traditional stonework and oak-beams throughout.
The gite is the oldest building in the area and is set back from the road and has its own access drive way and parking at the front entrance.
We have exposed a number of stone walls in the gite and re-pointed them in the traditional manner using sand and lime and this has given the gite an authentic look but also made the rooms brighter and homely.
Some of the door ways are low so the key word is Mind Your Head. (The French must have been a lot shorter in times gone by and some of our guests have found the beams very hard!!)
The gite is set up to cater for up to cater for 6 adults and two children sharing with their parents, one double bedroom and two bedrooms with a double and single bed. We can provide a cot for baby if required.
We are situated in a small rural hamlet of four houses, on a quiet country road. The nearest village is Cheronnac which has a small bar and post office, and is about one mile down the road, the other direction is Vayres which has a number of small essential shops and a bar.
