Other corners to explore from Maison 1934 🌿
Just a short drive away, the Ried opens towards Germany, with its quiet meadows, waterways and soft spring light.

Today’s little escape brought us to the International Orchid Exhibition in Volgelsheim, where nature turns into pure artistry.
These fascinating flowers don’t grow in soil. They live perched on tree bark, gently clinging to branches and drawing moisture from the air itself. A world suspended between earth and sky.

Delicate, extravagant, almost unreal… orchids always feel like a secret whispered by nature.

A gentle reminder that sometimes the most extraordinary things grow exactly where you wouldn’t expect them.

All this, just moments from the house 🌸

🌿 Spring escape, just 30 minutes from Maison 1934 🌿

This morning, we slipped away to the Vosges, up to the Col des Bagenelles… just long enough to breathe, wander, and let spring do its quiet magic.

On the menu:
🌸 wildflowers everywhere along the trails,
🐣 the (unexpected and utterly adorable) birth of tiny chicks,
🌞 and that gentle feeling that nature is waking up all around us.

And because every walk deserves a proper reward (non-negotiable 😌)…

We gave in to a traditional farmhouse feast:
🥔 crispy sautéed potatoes,
🧀 and a generous plate of Siesskäs : fresh farm cheese, lightly seasoned, rustic, creamy, and dangerously good.

Simple. Generous. Alive.

And all of this… just 30 minutes from the house.

💛 Sometimes, luxury is simply this: stepping outside, watching life unfold, and eating very, very well.
