We are completely dismayed to learn of the BBC's decision to ditch Ski Sunday.
The iconic 50-year-old programme inspired generations of British people from all walks of life to fall in love with skiing, winter and the mountains, and it gave visibility and support to snow sports athletes who badly need publicity to help funding for their sport.
Not only that, but it gave skiing and snowsports a real human touch, telling the stories of the people and places beyond the podiums.
(Are we alone in hoping that the online reaction to the news will make the BBC reconsider?!)
In the meantime, let's all whistle the theme tune and thank contributors past and present for having broadcast the major moments in ski history and brought the sheer joy of messing about in snow into British living rooms. ❄️
