Munich

🌟 Good vibes, Octoberfest culture, and history - all in one amazing weekend in Munich! 🚐🍻

First things first, let's talk about the good vibes that engulfed the city. From the moment we parked our motorhome, we were greeted with warm smiles and a lively atmosphere. The energy in the air was contagious, and it was impossible not to get caught up in the excitement!

Of course, no trip to Munich in October would be complete without diving headfirst into the world-famous Oktoberfest culture.

The sight of traditional Bavarian outfits, lederhosen, and dirndls, was a feast for the eyes. The lively music, laughter, and clinking of beer steins created an atmosphere that was simply electrifying. We indulged in delicious pretzels, bratwursts, and, of course, the iconic Oktoberfest beer. Prost! 🍻

But Munich isn't just about Oktoberfest; it's a city steeped in history. We took a stroll through the historic streets, marveling at the stunning architecture and learning about the city's rich past.
We visited the iconic Marienplatz, where we witnessed the famous Glockenspiel chime and watched the Rathaus come to life. It was like stepping back in time!

All in all, our weekend in Munich was an absolute blast! The combination of good vibes, Oktoberfest culture, and rich history made it an experience we'll never forget. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend visiting this incredible city. Prost to Munich! 🍻✨

We came chasing the sun ☀️ and man did we find it.
Over the last week on the Cote d'Azur, we have stayed at good campsites using our Acsi card for generous discounts, and seen some beautiful places on some amazing road trips.
Even our Yorkshire flag is helping to keep us in the shade.
Tomorrow, we start our journey northwest to the Atlantic West Coast.

So, from the medieval city of Dole, we travelled south-west we made our way to Lake Annecy in the French Alpes. On this occasion, though the weather deteriorated and just after arriving and setting up we had one heck of a storm ⛈️which lasted the three days we were there. This kept us inside, but we made use of it by doing chores and planning our next move.
After much debate, we decided to change plans and head south (chasing the sun ☀️ ) to the Cote D’Azur. After a long journey we found the sun and eventually somewhere to stop.
We stayed 2 nights at a site we stayed last year Caravanning Esterel, we where lucky to get in, as everywhere else we tried was full.

From Beaune we travelled the short distance to the charming town of Dole where we were struck by it's medieval vibe and history.
We then travelled further south to beautiful Annecy, unfortunately for us, the weather didn't play it's part, but still managed to get some decent photos.

If you ever find yourselves in the Burgundy region of France be sure to visit the city of Beaune. Set in the middle of the Cote -d’Or department, its vineyards cover some 16 miles from Nuits St - Georges in the north to Santenay in the south. Because has some amazing architecture, medieval churches, artisan shops and gorgeous restaurants.
The site we stayed on is just 10 minutes from the centre and is quiet and safe, all services are charged at 4.70€ per token so make sure you have an empty loo!😂
Overnight parking for around 8.70€ - good value considering it's location.

After a good night's sleep, I was up early for this morning's sunrise and walk with Melli. We are at “The Slumber on the Humber festival on the south bank of the Humber Estuary supporting the Charity MIND. Looking forward to today's events.

Today we visited a part of Bridlington we’ve been meaning to visit for ages - the Old Town. It’s high street is the longest Georgian frontage in the UK. We called into the Board Inn which, up until 1911 was a fruit, veg and provisions merchants. Since then it’s been the Board Inn, and nothing much has changed with its many quaint and quirky rooms which were once letting rooms. Some scenes from the latest Dads Army film were filmed in the pub and on the high street. This part of Bridlington is well worth a visit.

Winter Weekends, and we are in the Cotswolds. No matter what season, they are equally beautiful.
