What a journey… but we made it to Peyrènegre 🤍
Yesterday was definitely an eventful travel day, and honestly, it’s had me thinking so much about family.
The original plan was simple enough - fly from Manchester to Toulouse. But due to timing conflicts, that had to change, and flying from Stansted became the only way to get here.
So, I booked a train all the way down to Stansted with the little one.
Everything was going fine… until we got to Leeds and found out our connecting train to Peterborough had been cancelled. The next one wasn’t for another hour, which would have meant arriving at Stansted just 45 minutes before take-off.
Cue the panic. Sweating, stressing, trying to figure out what on earth to do.
I rang my husband, and like the absolute superhero he is, he didn’t even hesitate. He drove me and the little one two and a half hours to a meeting point, where my Father-in-Law took over and got us the rest of the way - which worked out perfectly, as he was actually getting on the same flight.
And somehow… we made it.
We finally arrived at Peyrènegre at nearly half past midnight, tired but very, very grateful.
It was one of those days that reminds you that family isn’t just about the big moments. Sometimes it’s the frantic phone calls, the last-minute plans, the long drives, and the people who drop everything to help you get where you need to be.
And now we’re here, back at Peyrènegre, ready to get stuck into the next chapter 🤍
I’ll be sharing more from our time here over the next few weeks — the cleaning, the setting up, the little updates, and all the behind-the-scenes bits as we get Peyrènegre ready for future family holidays.
