Nederland, maak mij niet langer medeplichtig. Aan oorlogsmisdaden die gepleegd worden in Palestina en Libanon. Aan het ongekende geweld dat al een jaar aan de gang is. Aan de dreigende uitroeiing van het Palestijnse volk in Gaza. Ons kabinet blijft Israël steunen en draagt, in naam van alle Nederlanders, actief bij aan ongekend leed en onacceptabel onrecht. Nederland, maak mij niet langer medeplichtig. Daarom zeg ik: : Niet in mijn naam.

January=tree planting time, hurray! This year we opted for a weeping willow (near the pond of course) and two fine specimens of morus kagayamae, which will hopefully provide shade to the new terrace. Training them into a parasol shape is still somewhat of a project.. Our brilliant local tree guy (http://www.pepinieres-keranna.fr/) laughed in our faces when we inquired about pre-trained trees (apparently this is considered very bourgeois/'burgerlijk')...

Temperaturen boven de 40° en wekenlang geen druppel regen. Niet echt de milde Bretonse zomer waar we ooit voor tekenden, maar inmiddels wel de harde realiteit. Water is op rantsoen. De afgelopen weken douchten we (kort!) in teiltjes en vingen we het (af)waswater op om de wegkwijnende tuin (2 hectare) toch maar wat water te kunnen geven. Letterlijk een druppel op een gloeiende plaat. 😔 Volgende zomer hebben we hopelijk wel die hoognodige ondergrondse regenwatertank... 💦
