Secret Pyrenees is a boutique bed and breakfast based in the foothills of the French Pyrenees, run by Tobias & Zayne Mews

As every good story should begin, this one began when adventure athletes Tobias & Zayne Mews fell in love with a charming 18th century farmhouse in the foothills of the French Pyrenees. Known as Maison Rancesamy, it was for many years run as a successful chambre d'hote. We've now re-opened the business, with 3 luxuriously appointed rooms on offer. con, at the confluence of the 3 valleys of Ossau, Aspe and Barretous, 20 minutes south of the historic city of Pau, yet only an hour from the Spanish border and 90 minutes from Biarritz, it's the best of all worlds. With cycling, trail running, canyoning, golf, climbing, kayaking, fishing, hiking and just about any other sport you can think of, all within a stone's throw, it's paradise for those with a sporting inclination. As well as those who wish to relax and indulge in the cultural adventures on offer, from thermal spas to wine tasting.

Zayne and I are super chuffed to announce a new chapter in our lives here in the Pyrenees, as we're offering (at long last) all-inclusive cycling packages at Secret Pyrenees.

We are launching with five, 7-day cycling tours this summer, starting on June 26th through to the end of August. This is a really exciting development (alongside a new website) and Zayne and would love it if you can share this post with your friends and family.

It’s been a busy week, but helping our neighbour pick grapes has been such fun. Even managed to show some of our guests from Norway the delights of the vendange. Simply love a good Jurançon!

La semaine a été chargée, mais aider notre voisin à cueillir du raisin a été très amusant. Nous avons même réussi à montrer à certains de nos invités de Norvège les délices de la vendange. J'aime tout simplement un bon Jurançon!

Our friends over at domaine_coustarret] have created something quite outstanding: a fruity and bubbly jurançon. It’s not surprising that it’s sold out! Thank goodness we managed to get hold of a bottle to see what all the fuss was about!

Nos amis du domaine_coustarret] ont créé quelque chose d'assez exceptionnel : un jurançon fruité et pétillant. Il n'est pas surprenant qu'il soit épuisé ! Heureusement, nous avons réussi à mettre la main sur une bouteille pour voir ce qu'il en était !

Je ne m'attendais pas à ce que le Val d'Aran de l'UTMB soit aussi difficile. Mais voici un petit avant-goût de ce que c'était de courir 105 km à travers les Pyrénées espagnoles avec un énorme 6500 m de dénivelé positif !

Il s'avère qu'essayer de se filmer pendant 21 heures tout en courant est assez difficile. Mais c'est tellement cool de voir cette fabuleuse vidéo sur The Running Channel. Regardez-la !

I didn't expect the Val d'Aran by UTMB to be this hard. But here is a little taster of what it was like running 105kms through the Spanish Pyrenees with a whopping 6500m of elevation gain!

It turns out trying to film yourself for 21 hours whilst also running is quite hard. But so cool to see this fabulous video on The Running Channel. Check it out on YouTube using the link below!

Je n'ai pas l'occasion de courir partout avec Zayne (grâce à deux petits terroristes) mais quand je le fais, nous aimons aller dans un endroit spécial.

Niché en haut des montagnes, à environ 2000m entre les vallées d'Aspe et d'Ossau, se trouve un lac en forme de cœur. C'est un endroit assez spécial appelé le Lac du Montagnon. Si jamais vous venez séjourner chez nous, c'est un endroit à ne pas manquer !
