Mother hen has hatched eight little chicks today but who's the Daddy?THE CONTENDERS; Churchill, the blue splash Orpington, a Kentish breed. Sturdy Stroppy but Slightly Sllow, OR Sarkozy, the copper black Maran; flashy, feisty and fast.

The first omelette aux fines herbes of 2012. Warm homebaked bread, local butter, our own fresh eggs, and salad,chervil, tarragon and chives from the garden. Oh yes, and a nice glass of Haut Poitou sauvignon blanc on the side; summer is nearly here at last!
