A lovely walk around the largest Japanese garden in Europe, le Parc Oriental at Maulévrier. Well worth a visit!

A few photos from our walk around Ars-en-Ré, Ile de Ré, 9km around the port, along the sea wall and through the salt pans. Only an hour from la Jolie Maison, a lovely day out.

I have to share a couple of displays from today's visit to the Historial de la Vendée because they mention our village of Le Langon.... I will definitely be keeping my eyes open when I'm gardening now!

Day 2 of 2 of the Journées du Patrimoine and we managed to squeeze in another three sites 😉 the Historial de la Vendée, the Mémorial de la Vendée and the Logis de la Chabotterie. We have learnt so many fascinating things about the Vendée, loved it!

Day 1 of 2 for les Journées du Patrimoine - heritage days. Nearly all museum in France are free or half price. Managed to visit 3 places today: Abbaye de Maillezais, Abbaye de Nieul-sur-l'Autise and la Maison de la Meunerie, the Miller's house which had a display of old stone washing tubs which is what we have in our garden .... now used as a plant pot!

Had a lovely walk around Le Parc Floral at Court D'Aron, such beautiful lotus flowers! Every Sunday in July and August they have a Polynesian festival too!

A great day out at Foussais-Payré at the chain saw wood sculpting festival. Beautiful creations!
