Our guests from Brittany this week knew how to enjoy themselves, and they loved our brassero to do HUGE T-Bone steaks 🔥🥩. They were massive!

Nos hôtes bretons de cette semaine savaient comment profiter de leur séjour, et ils ont adoré notre brasero pour cuisiner d'énormes côtes de bœuf (T-Bone) 🔥🥩. Elles étaient gigantesques ! 🤤

So... Natasha's project for this winter! Bought from a lovely gentleman who made it for his granddaughters, who have now grown up, and he wanted it to go somewhere children would make the most of it. We hope to restore it to its former glory and put it in our playground for guests next summer! 🚂 🚃

Alors... le projet de Natasha pour cet hiver ! Achetée à un charmant monsieur qui l'avait fabriquée pour ses petites-filles, aujourd'hui devenues grandes, et qui voulait qu'elle aille là où des enfants pourraient vraiment en profiter. Nous espérons la restaurer pour lui redonner toute sa splendeur d'antan et l'installer dans notre aire de jeux pour nos hôtes l'été prochain ! 🚂 🚃

This is why we do it and this is what makes it all worth while! Two wonderful families staying for the last week and on leaving this morning a little gift from Iris and Cora. 🥰😍

🎂 A very special birthday celebration at Le Gîte du Bois Renard.

Samantha Collett joined us this week to mark her birthday in style, with a truly extraordinary bottle of Cossart Gordon Malmsey Madeira 1965, harvested in the very year she was born, matured for 27 years in American oak casks and bottled in 1992 and bought by Sam in 1993. A wine that has been waiting 61 years for exactly this moment! 🍷

Paired with a magnificent spread of pastries, enjoyed on the terrace as the sun went down — we think that's a birthday done properly! 🥮🍰🎉

Our May long weekend guests have all come and gone — four very different groups, all with their own story, and great to see everyone enjoying the whole space just as we had hoped when we started out two years ago. Thank you all for your kind feedback and lovely reviews — we hope to see you again next year. Now a little pause in June to get everything ready for our summer holiday guests! 🌞

Nos clients des longs week-ends de mai sont tous repartis — quatre groupes bien différents, chacun avec sa propre histoire, et c’est une vraie joie de voir tout le monde profiter de l’espace comme nous l’avions espéré quand nous avons lancé le projet il y a deux ans. Merci à tous pour vos gentils retours et vos beaux avis — nous espérons vous revoir l’année prochaine. Une petite pause en juin pour tout préparer avant d’accueillir nos vacanciers d’été ! 🌞
