Dating from the 1200's this noblemans house stayed in the same family for around 500 years until just before the revolution in 1785, when it was sold for the first time. Lords, Ladies & Marquis lived here. During the second world war, La Corbeliere was used as the local German Army headquarters. There was also a Tank battle against the American Army based just a short distance away at La Basse Hai

e. The pretty little guest suite is in the main house with it's own private stairs. A mix of French/English hand selected pieces chosen for your comfort. Furnished with a cosy double French demi Corbeille bed, upholstered in exclusive Toile de Mayenne fabric. Sumptuous pillows & quilt covered in white cotton linens. available. A small modern shower room with sink & toilet, fluffy towels, robes, shower slippers & luxury toiletries. Clever use of space has created a small seating area with French armchairs to enjoy a glass of wine, curl up with a book or play games. Tea making facilities are outside the bedroom with French table & chairs. You may have your breakfast here if you prefer. As the house is 800 years old there are a few low beams & odd steps to negotiate, so please mind your head............

Charming village of Cigne is 1 km. Pretty Ambrieres les Vallees is 3 km away with banks, restaurants, supermarkets & bars. The market is on Saturday morning. The leisure park has a riding school with an indoor arena and a friendly fun multilingual owner. In the high season there is crazy golf, tennis, outdoor pool with slide & canoeing, or you could take a leisurely stroll along the river bank. Further along is sailing & windsurfing. Nearby In beautiful Mayenne there are Michelin star restaurants lots of shops, a twice weekly market & a newly restored Chateau museum. Gorron, Ceauce & Lassay les Chateaux with it's 14th century castle. There is a friendly bar in Ceauce where most UK sport is shown live. The Tour de France has passed through twice in the last 9 years, so if you want to ride some of the route, it's on our doorstep. Getting Around As we are in rural countryside a vehicle is necessary to visit the many tourist attractions. From Paris and Versailles to St Malo & the Emerald coast, the spa town of Bagnoles de L'orne, Medieval Domfront, the Roman ruins of Jublains. The sparkling Loire - valley of the Kings Chateaux & wine tasting trips. Le Mans & the 2nd prettiest village of France, medieval Saint Suzanne.
