Freedom for profit. Democracy for fascism. Time to act now and quit on big tech.
Freedom over profit. Democracy over fascism.
Last statement on Meta: As most of you know I will be leaving Meta for good, It took me a while to migrate and move everything to honest, mostly European and not for profit alternatives but now I am ready. Why such a big statement you might think?
Because now is the time to act. As a citizen and especially as an artist and European. Because most of us, even people working in tech still do not or do not want to see the scope of evil coming from big tech.
This is why I will formulate it a bit bluntly:
Big tech is proven to consciously:
- undermine democracies
- is highly addictive
- promotes hate and fascism
This is happening out of choice not because there are no other technical solutions.
What does it matter I am just posting my gigs or family stuff? This argument is irrelevant because it is already a long time not anymore about what you post, how often you post etc. It is about how long you are on the platform, what you get to see, when, how it reads and analyses all that meta data also provided by other apps you use and consequentially how it is used to manipulate all of us and promotes fascism (meta) or uses the data even for targeting people (Google Gaza) and how that data is then again used to feed into various AI models. As the US drift more and more into a fascist controlled state Europe needs to choose a different paths. And us Europeans have the obligation and power to choose differently. If we say the famous words “never again” referring to WW2 and atrocities of N***s we need to be serious about it and get off the couch and really act “never again”.
1: Go vote! Especially all my fellow Germans. Vote! Whatever you choose but choose democratically. As SchMERZhAFD news is currently. Do it!
2: Leave big tech.
3: Join a political party
4: Get involved. Stop moaning and being pessimistic. In every change is an opportunity (wise words from an improviser)
5: support organisations and people you believe in
