If you’re staying at our villa and you’re interested in stained glass, there is a fantastic display of ancient and modern glass at the Musée de Vitrail in Curzay-sur Vonne near Poitiers.

Verteuil-sur-Charente is a pretty little village overlooked by a chateau. Lots of lovely restaurants on the river and an 11th Century church.

Today we visited La Vieille Fermette Brocante et Bistro in Nieuil.
What a treat! Lovely little brocante with its own bistro in a gorgeous rural setting. Well worth a visit if you’re staying at Villa Lierre.

After browsing Emma’s treasures we sat in the sun with a cider and planches - heaven!

There is a big outdoor brocante every second Sunday of the month all around the great gothic cathedral in Limoges.
Lots of lovely stalls, something for everyone and well worth a visit.
