"Ben's green wagon was amazing, it had all we needed. Ben is super friendly and recommended to us several places to visit. Additionally, the village is lovely, and we were lucky to be able to visit the Marché!! If it's possible, book your stay including a Sunday! We definitely recommed to come and spend a few days in this idyllic place surrounded by nature and be able to disconnect from the frenetic outside world of crowded cities"

Nice review:

“For us, Ben's Gypsy Wagon was just the perfect getaway. It offers basic amenities (dishes, a small kitchen, wood burner, etc.), electricity, and even the possibility to take warm showers in the bath adjacent to the house, which, in my opinion, is more than you can ask for at that price. And Ben himself really is an interesting person and a good host. We spent two lovely days of hiking (as far as the snow permitted it), everything within a 1 hour radius by car. If you're lucky enough to catch an event at the "Grangette", it's probably worth your while. It looks like a cool location. We skipped it because we were too exhausted... But even in this case, the wagon is hidden well enough so that you won't be affected if you want to have a quiet time. If you decide to pick this little gem for your trip, visiting the local market is absolutely a MUST!”

LATEST REVIEW OF LA ROULOTTE VERTE.......

“Un accueil hyper chaleureux, une roulotte cosy, vraiment au calme et sans vis-à-vis, avec un petit poêle qui fait beaucoup de bien quand il fait froid dehors. Tout le nécessaire pour passer un séjour au calme, loin de tout. Ben est hyper à l'écoute, super accueillant, toujours prêt à rendre service, réactif aux demandes. Toutes les personnes rencontrées sur place ont été super charmantes. L'accueil des animaux de compagnie est vraiment au top, notre chien anxieux a été accueilli avec beaucoup de douceur et de patience. Le petit + du village : Un marché hyper complet, avec une grande diversité d'exposants, a lieu le dimanche matin. Un logement à ne pas louper pour être dépaysé !”

This place is the perfect combination of magical, social, quiet, private and stunning. The wagon itself has everything you need, and the village has the rest at the Sunday market if you’re lucky enough to stay for that! I spent a month here and met amazing people from the village and the surrounding area, went for stunning walks and got to enjoy everything this part of France has to offer. It’s suprisingly easy to get around from here with a little guidance from Ben, he’s an excellent host. I couldn’t have asked for a better place, it was beyond any expectation. People here are easy going and helpful, Ben and his friends made my stay memorable. Thank you so much for having me!

“We had a great holiday staying in the wagon. It is very a cosy and tranquil place for a getaway. The facilities are basic but give you everything you need, and it makes a great base for exploring an astonishingly beautiful area of countryside. Ben was a very sweet host and gave good advice on places to visit. He even came out to check on us in the middle of a torrential thunderstorm to make sure we were safe and dry! (we were - the roof is awesome and can withstand giant hailstones!!!) Thanks Ben, for hosting us on a lovely holiday x”

"It’s a shame we only got to stay one night at Bens place as we were passing though. Ben was very easy to contact and welcomed us warmly and provided us with great local tips. The wagon was very clean and had all the cookware we needed and a wood burning stove to stay warm. Bed was very comfy and we had a great quiet night. We highly recommend!"

La Roulotte Verte

La Roulotte Verte is a gorgeous self contained gypsy-esque wagon nestled in the back of a garden on the edge of a quiet village in the foothills of the French Pyrenees, 50km south of Toulouse. It can be rented by the night, by the week, or even by the month.

The wagon has a small kitchen, a double bed, table, shelves, electric radiator and a Windy Smithy wood burner which hails all the way from Dorset. The toilets and shower are nearby.

The property also contains the renowned "Grangette' which is a café/venue/residential space which is in occassional use. The wagon can serve as accommodation for those wishing to use the Grangette as a rehearsal or creation space, or for those just wanting some quiet time, or for those wanting to explore the Pyrenees etc.

There is also a self contained caravan on the property and other accommodation can be arranged if necessary.

Toulouse airport is one hour away and is served by Ryanair and Easyjet among other airlines. Even better - Toulouse has great rail links. The nearest station to us is Carbonne, 20km away. Pick up can be arranged.

The area is great for cycling, walking, as a take off point for the beautiful unspoilt Pyrenees, or the Cathar region. There are great markets in various villages nearby, the best and most authentic of which is in our village every Sunday morning.

The price of La Roulotte Verte is €25 for one night with a 15% discount on bookings of a week, and a 25% discount on bookings of a month or more. The wagon can be booked directly through us or through Air BnB.

Animals are welcome but not rhinoceroses, we don't like rhinoceroses.
