You’d never guess this was a swamp six years ago… 🤍

When we first arrived at Pomiro, the pool was just an empty swamp. But the position and views across the valley were one of the things we fell in love with when we first viewed Pomiro.

Now, the pool is where guests come for a morning swim, spend the afternoon snoozing or reading a book, and gather together in the evening to watch the sunset.

It’s a space that changes with the day, and one that’s become a big part of what makes this place feel like Pomiro. 🌿

Before & after of the château kitchen 🤍

When we first arrived, the room had been stripped bare and left untouched for years. It was in serious need of some love (& cleaning), and felt cold, dark & tired.

We wanted to bring it back to life while keeping as much of the character of the château as possible — creating a kitchen that felt warm, welcoming and full of old French charm, with plenty of imperfections left in to make it feel like home.

It’s definitely come a long way. 🤍

Some of our favourite things about Pomiro weren’t part of the plan when we first moved here, and it has been such a joy to discover

Wildlife spotting in the garden- hares, deer, woodpeckers, red squirrels ...

Watching the sunset over the pool, with an apero in hand
No light pollution and guests staying up to stargaze
The way the garden changes completely through the seasons

Six years of renovating a house means you spend a lot of time thinking about the things you want to create. It turns out some of the best bits are the things you never could have planned.
