Battening down the hatches as this is about to clobber us! Forecasts of 110km/h locally! Already getting wild and windy outside - we have waves in the pool!

La dépression GABRIEL se positionne au Sud du Finistère en ce milieu de journée, avec un creux à 990 hPa. La dépression continue à se creuser et devrait aborder la Loire-Atlantique en fin d’après-midi (un peu plus au Nord que prévu).
La bascule des vents s’effectuera comme prévu, vers 16-17h sur les côtes vendéennes. Des lors, des rafales à 120-130 km/h souffleront en bord de mer (localement 140 km/h sur l’île d’Yeu). On attend de 110 à 120 km/h en zone côtière, 100 à 110 km/h dans les terres.

A rib-sticking family lunch - Choucroute, with slow roast belly pork and smoked sausage. Served on a huge plate it sat in the middle of the table where we picked at it for several hours. A delicious glass or two of Sylvaner to accompany it and a beautiful home-made Galette des Rois completed this perfect winter's lunch.
