Holiday home available for rent. Two bedroom apartment in the converted Orangery besides an 18th Century Chateau within a walled and Private 40 acre estate. It has an outdoor pool (May-September), hard tennis court, formal gardens, pond, woodland and play area. The Orangery is a 35 minute easy drive to EuroDisney and 5 minutes drive into Lizy-sur-Ourq where there is a direct train (free parking) t

o Gare de l'Est (50 minutes). Set in glorious countryside, close to the Champagne Region, with nearby attractions and 40 minutes drive to Charles de Gaulle airport. The Apartment has ground-floor kitchen-diner with patio doors onto the front terrace overlooking the Chateau and back terrace onto the formal gardens, towards the swimming pool. The first floor has a double bed and en-suite shower and toilet. Upper floor has three single beds with en-suite shower and toilet. Our holiday home is fully equipped for self-catering holidays! Lovely few days at The Orangery. Doing odd jobs, refreshing the garden and sorting out the Internet after thieves had stolen the copper wire in the road. We swam every day, ate freshly picked fruit et bien sûr ate too many croissants.

We’re at La Trousse for a few days. We have day pass to Disneyland Studios (exciting!) and will go into Paris to see if we can see anything of the Olympic Opening Ceremony.

Doing some weeding and pruning as always. There is definitely a ‘shabby chic’ air to La Trousse but it’s all the more charming for it!

Mixed feelings today - our last renters messaged us to say the Orangery was unacceptably dirty …. This was after we had had a long conversation with our cleaner about the level of cleaning. So we had to let her go.

We had inherited her from the previous owners at their request as she was hard up and had no other work. However, any ‘bad’ reviews we have had have been about the cleaning.

We start a new era with a new cleaner who is AMAZING - so hopefully if you come and stay there will be no more dust or cobwebs!!

We also spent a few hours chopping logs (see photos) so if you stay in winter you can keep warm!!!

The Orangery is looking beautiful now - here’s to a wonderful Summer!!!
