“Humanity” sculpture in the hotel lobby. 👀
Two men and two women, arranged in a circle as a metaphor for the cycle of life, carry the rings of an armillary sphere, a symbol of the universe.
✍🏻 With this remarkable monumental group, entitled “Humanity”, Christophe Charbonnel pays tribute to one of his artistic masters, Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux, while offering a bold contemporary reinterpretation of the grand Fontaine des Quatre-Parties-du-Monde.
In the patio, discover the sculpture “Torse de Prométhée II”. 🌿
The choice to sculpt a fragmented torso evokes both vulnerability and Prometheus’ enduring resilience, condemned by Zeus to be chained to a rock for eternity.
Drawing inspiration from ancient mythology and the great masters of the late 19th century, Christophe Charbonnel brings to life an athletic male figure, marked by the trials he has endured.
