A Room in Paris ready to see you soon again!!!!

Dear friends, we're in June 2021, who would ever have believed that the world could have been at a hold for 15 months, due to something invisable....

In Paris things are slowly getting to the new kind of normal. Museums have opened again, so have the theaters and cinema's. As from this wednesday june 9 restaurants can receive guests inside, and the curfew will only start at 11PM. From june 30 the curfew will be over, and more freedom will be allowed.

Travelling to France is possible, but requires a PCR test, or a proof of the 2 shots of vaccin, before arriving. Arriving from some countries, still at a high risk, a quaranteen is required. Soon the European pass will allow more free travels between the EU countries.
We're ready to receive you. If we have full house breakfast will be in 2 or more shifts. So maximum of distances at the breakfast table. Rooms are steam cleaned after departure. The shared bathrooms will be steam cleaned several times a day. There are desinfectant sprays in every shared bathroom So if you wish you can use these sprays to minimise any risk of contamination.

We 're hoping that you, our dear guests, are ready to return to our home and Paris. We're ready for your stay with us... The french state has helped us very well to survive sofar. But we need to do it now on our own again. So especially for you: friends, guests, followers, if you book directly with us refer to this post and we will give you a 15% discount, for this summers stay till September 30 2021. We hope you will come again soon. We've missed you!!!! and specifically I missed cooking and baking for you!

See you soon at www.aroominparis.com

It looks like my 3 months of a forced holiday in the Gers is getting to an end.... After june 22nd we will be allowed to reopen A ROOM IN PARIS.....and most probably at least the European frontières will re-open as well...... I plan to return after june 15 to Paris, clean and prepare the house, just to be ready for the new guests. Ofcourse there are many new guidelines we will need to respect. It'll be different, but I'm sure we can host in the same line as we did before but respecting the norms. Guests will still be able to communicate, but at a distance. I'll inform you later about it all!

have a wonderfull weekend!

Love Peet

I sincerely hope you all are ok, where ever you are in this strange world. 5 weeks ago I left Paris to join Thierry for the lockdown. Ever since we ´re 24/7 close to eachother working, laughing, sometimes a bit disagreeing but mostly happy to be together. The weather has been excellent so we mostly worked in the parc. We were supposed to get married in 13 days. Well that ll be for another time. A lot of nice moments comming up, my 60th bd, our 18 years together, our 15 years of partner registration... great milestones.
In the mean time we re dealing how afterwards. Lockdown here in France is at least till may 11. 3 more weeks. But bars restaurants and hotels will stay closed. Fragile persons will have to stay in lockdown. Certain areàs as well. So no idea when I can get back to Paris. And when guests will return. People are already cancelling for July, August, even October.. but on the other hand I ve received 3 new bookings. Cool that...
please all stay safe and sound!!

Hope to see you soon again!!

Thank you all for your massive and wonderfull reactions. Gives us hope and energy again to go for it as soon as possible...

Thank you all for your massive and wonderfull reactions. Gives us hope and energy again to go for it as soon as possible. Right now I'm in the south west of France. Don't laugh, our town is called Condom.... Condom is located in the Gers. The Gascogne area. Where the Mousquetaires originate from. To give an idea, Bordeaux is 130KM away and Toulouse 150km as well but to the other side. We're right in the middle. It's the country of duck, (foie gras) good wines and a very happy life. The property we bought here has quite alot of buildings. And there are no bathrooms. Not even sewerage.... It's gonna take years before all will be done.
So instead of being alone in Paris for weeks locked in the apartment, I jumped in one of the rare trains overhere. The weather has been rather nice except for the past few days. But it looks like it will be nice the coming week. Since we sleep in a Caravan, it is very welcome to have nice weather.

We're working in the gardens. It is a big wilderness. Unfortunately several old trees were beyond saving. The fell during storms. So we're cutting them up and stacking them in order to burn during the winters in the future.

My plans as well are to develop my cooking. Trying out new recipes, for cakes or other stuff to add to the breakfast buffet. But as well try out some ifdea's I have. It is a pitty there are no fresh fruits yet. I would have made loads of new jams.

I'll share it here with you. And please if you have anything to share with us, don't hesitate

What a strange times.. walking in our empty home since 2 weeks. How many more weeks to follow? The house We so proudly created. Where we received thousands and thousands of guests from all over the world. In the past 15 years. Guests with who we lived for a few days. People that called our house home... I ´m longing to be able to re-open and get my life back...
