Nous sommes toujours à la recherche de trésors de seconde main : des pièces uniques, pleines d’histoire, de caractère et d’âme, qui contribuent à créer l’atmosphère chaleureuse et personnelle de nos espaces.

Du mobilier vintage aux objets oubliés qui n’attendent qu’à briller à nouveau, chaque trouvaille raconte une histoire et apporte quelque chose de spécial à notre hôtel 💛

Parce que nous croyons que les lieux les plus inspirants se construisent lentement, avec intention — souvent à partir d’objets qui ont déjà vécu une première vie.

✨Paris slowed down today…

Every first Sunday of the month, parts of the capital go car-free, offering a quieter, softer version of the city.

Fewer cars, more space, a calmer rhythm. Footsteps replace engines, conversations replace horns. Neighbors linger, cyclists pass by, and the street feels almost different.

It’s a glimpse of another Paris—more peaceful, more local, more human.

✨Paris a ralenti aujourd’hui...

Chaque premier dimanche du mois, certaines zones de la capitale deviennent sans voiture, offrant une version plus calme et plus douce de la ville.

Moins de voitures, plus d’espace, un rythme apaisé. Les pas remplacent les moteurs, les conversations remplacent les klaxons. Les voisins prennent le temps, les cyclistes passent, et la rue semble presque différente.

Un aperçu d’un autre Paris — plus paisible, plus local, plus humain.

Boulangerie Vandermeerch 🥖

In the year 2000, we bought a run-down hotel with a flashing fluorescent pink sign on Avenue Daumesnil. I could write a book about what we found in the rooms, but the neighborhood also had its own “charm.” Back then, the nearby woods were famous for a particular type of person who liked to spend their evenings there wearing nothing but their birthday suits. As much as I laugh now looking back, I’m not sure I would want to relive it anytime soon!

In the neighborhood, we couldn’t have been happier to discover a beautiful bakery right across the street from us. The owners — also a couple — had bought it only a few months before we arrived. Over the years, we transformed our clientele into travelers from all over the world searching for a true French experience, and Vandermeerch became 100% part of that story.

Clients would fill their bags with lemon tarts and all sorts of goodies for their plane rides home. Guests photographed the windows and cakes to show friends overseas. At the time, we were simply grateful to have such a wonderful bakery nearby, but looking back now, it was more than just a bakery — it became part of our lives, part of our guests’ memories, and part of their experience of Paris.

We worked side by side creating dreams for thousands of people, yet remained somewhat apart, each busy running a new business and raising our children. Today, we begin a new adventure together — this time truly together — as they have joined our new neighborhood association, bringing businesses and neighbors along Avenue Daumesnil closer to one another.

After all these years working alongside each other, I am really looking forward to finally getting to know my neighbor across the street.
