It's a huge fete with over 160 stands. Lots of seasonal plants for your garden.

A quick post to let you all know how much was raised at our summer fayre for THE RAINBOW ASSOCIATION CHARITY SHOP
Thanks to everyone who bought refreshments and raffle tickets, plus all the prize donators, we collected €522.80.

Last one from me tonight!

So looking forward to tomorrow, but also a bit nervous about our first charity event.

Luckily, we have got the most kind, supportive and generous artisans coming, who have donated prizes for the raffle and given me lots of encouragement!

We hope the day will be a success for them and everyone.
Don't forget, we are the delicious E&L Limousin Gin with us all day. Tasty BBQ and entertainment by Brian Bennett.

Plus a big thanks in advance to Sanglier Marketing who will be filming the event for us.

Whilst you are staying at Gite du Tisserand, you must go to Le Moulin de Chevillou. It is only 15 minutes away by car.
Go for a coffee or a meal, you will be impressed by its beautiful surroundings.

Pendant votre séjour au Gîte du Tisserand, vous devez vous rendre au Moulin de Chevillou. Il se trouve à seulement 15 minutes en voiture.
Allez-y pour un café ou un repas, vous serez impressionné par son magnifique environnement.

Only a 6 minute car drive, a 50 minute walk or a 16 minute cycle away, is the pretty restaurant and bar Le saint Jouvent. It has a seating area at the front, inside and in the garden at the rear of the property. Again the host is friendly and the food is great. the perfect place to experience a traditional french life.

À seulement 6 minutes en voiture, 50 minutes à pied ou 16 minutes à vélo, se trouve le joli restaurant et bar Le saint Jouvent. Il dispose d'un coin salon à l'avant, à l'intérieur et dans le jardin à l'arrière de la propriété. Là encore, l'hôte est sympathique et la nourriture est excellente. C'est l'endroit idéal pour faire l'expérience d'une vie française traditionnelle.

When you stay at Gite du Tisserand you are lucky to have restaurants and bars in the area. Today, I will start with our favourite Restaurant LE 147 St Jouvent. Patrick and Isabel will give a warm and friendly welcome when you arrive at their restaurant, especially if you have a dog. Our dog, Tilly, always gets water and a treat.
The restaurant is set in a large beautiful garden with a tennis court, tables on the terrace, and seating to relax in. Each day Isabel has a delicious meal of the day prepared and during the summer months, they have special themed nights - the next one coming up is Paella night on 10th July.
It is 3 minute drive from Gite du Tisserand or a 10 minute walk.
We hope you will visit them as it lovely place to eat and relax.

Lorsque vous séjournez au Gîte du Tisserand, vous avez la chance d'avoir des restaurants et des bars dans les environs. Aujourd'hui, je vais commencer par notre restaurant préféré LE 147 St Jouvent. Patrick et Isabel vous réservent un accueil chaleureux et convivial lorsque vous arrivez dans leur restaurant, surtout si vous avez un chien. Notre chien, Tilly, reçoit toujours de l'eau et une friandise.
Le restaurant est situé dans un grand et beau jardin avec un court de tennis, des tables sur la terrasse et beaucoup d'espace pour que les enfants puissent jouer. Now you have a few photographs of our recently refurbished gite, let me explain where we are in Limousin.
We feel very lucky to be positioned in a fantastic spot for getting to the whole of Limousin. By car you are only 25 minutes to the beautiful city of Limoges, France and 20 minutes to the old town of Bellac.
Within a 30 minutes radius of the gite, you can reach the Monts du Blond, Monts d’Ambazac, Oradour-sur-Glane Village Martyr plus many more interesting places to visit.

Best of all, if you do not want to drive, there is a 10 minute walk to the train station or bus stop for days out in Limoges or Poitiers. Not forgetting Restaurant LE 147 St Jouvent for great food and service only 10 minutes walk from the gite.

You will find everything you need for self catering, in our well equipped kitchen, however, we hope you will make more use of the BBQ, as the warm nights are perfect for alfresco dining.
Also, there is cute cottage garden positioned in front of the kitchen. Great spot for early morning coffee.

In the gite there is a spacious living room. The thick stone walls allow the rooms stay cool in the summer. So if you need to escape the sunshine fir an hour or two, you can relax on the sofa with a book or watch a film.




Dans le gîte, il y a une salle de séjour spacieuse. Les murs épais en pierre permettent aux pièces de rester fraîches en été. Ainsi, si vous avez besoin d'échapper au soleil pendant une heure ou deux, vous pouvez vous détendre sur le canapé avec un livre ou regarder un film.
